DEXTER - William Marchant, 66, died September 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 30, 1951 in Portland, a son of T. Bernard and Pauline (Lacy) Marchant. Bill was a veteran having served in the Coast Guard and the Army Reserves. He was employed at Les Wilson & Son Construction in Westbrook. He moved to Dexter in 2005. Bill was an avid fisherman and loved to be at the farm with his "adopted son" Kenny Trafton. He is survived by his wife, Brenda (White) Marchant of Dexter; 4 sons, Michael Sargent of Norridgewock, Richard Sargent of Portland, William Marchant, Jr. of New Hampshire, and Lance Marchant of Dexter; a daughter, Christine Marchant of Dexter; 2 brothers, Clifford Marchant of South Portland and Steve Marchant of Westbrook; a sister, Edna Bilodeau of Florida; several nieces and nephews and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Martha and James Marchant. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, October 5th, at the Gateway Pentecostal Church, 363 Moosehead Trail, Newport, with the Rev. Jacky Willhoite officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
