IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Zackary

Erskine

November 12, 1997 – January 26, 2026

Obituary

With great sadness, Zackary "Zack" Erskine, 28, passed away unexpectedly. Zack grew up in Dixmont and lived in Dexter as an adult. He worked as a traveling millwright, a path that fit his personality perfectly. Rather than sitting behind a desk, Zack chose the road — working with his hands, traveling for jobs, and staying constantly on the move. Known for his dedication and reliability, he could always be counted on by friends and family alike. Outside of work, Zack loved motorcycles, side-by-sides, driving fast, hunting, and fishing — anything that gave him a sense of freedom and adrenaline. He was the life of the party, had a gift for making people laugh. His quick wit, unfiltered humor, and big personality made him unforgettable to those who knew him. Zack was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jay Smith, and his paternal grandparents, Elton and Betty Erskine. He is survived by his fiancée, Nicole Jenkins; daughter, Maddie Jenkins; parents, Mark and Chrissy Erskine; brother, Nate Erskine and his wife Kathryn; twin nieces, Emersyn and Hadley; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Smith; and his beloved dogs, Conrad and Chico, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Zack will be remembered for his big heart and for living life full throttle. A Celebration of Life will be held February 15th, 2026 at 3pm at Dixmont Goldcrest Riders, 31 Cates Road Dixmont, ME. The family asks come as you are, bring your favorite beverage and casual dress code, but no birthday suits. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to Maine Youth Fish and Game Association PO Box 337 Stillwater, ME 04489 in Zack's name to instill the love of the Maine outdoors in the local youth. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression or emotional distress, help is available. You are not alone. You can call or text 988 anytime to speak with trained counselors.
